At the base a yellow fleur-de-lis succeeding three World War II campaigns and an Iraq campaign inscribed “ARDENNES-ALSACE”, “RHINELAND”, “CENTRAL EUROPE”, and “IRAQI GOVERNANCE”.

Symbolism

The designs are based on the unit’s shoulder sleeve insignia, worn by soldiers of the 42D Infantry Division. The fleurs-da-lis symbolizes participation in World War I and World War II in France. The rose of York represents the unit’s lineage to New York and allegiance to the New York Army National Guard.

Background

The regalia was originally provided on 11 May 1973. The regalia was updated to include current campaign participation on 3 August 2020.
